Senior Analyst
Hanna Torrens-Spence has over 6 years of experience in data analysis within the renewable energy sector.
Prior to working with BrightWind, Hanna worked as Site Developer/ Oceanographer for a Swedish tidal energy developer, Minesto, from 2018 to 2023. She was responsible for coordinating site assessment activities including ADCP measurements and for analysis of site data to inform project design and operations. She also worked on collaborative environmental monitoring projects studying the interactions with marine wildlife, and delivered site identification studies.
Prior to Minesto, Hanna worked for Irish tidal turbine developer, OpenHydro Technology, as part of the Site Characterisation and Turbine Monitoring team.
Before joining OpenHydro, Hanna studied at Queen’s University Belfast, completing a Masters in Environmental and Civil Engineering and continuing in Postgraduate research on the characterisation of tidal currents for the application of tidal energy devices.
